Our EnviroIssues team believes in the power of community engagement to amplify the voices, ideas, and knowledge within communities to create a future where every person can thrive. We partner with our clients to develop human-centered conversations that elevate communities’ deep cultural and multi-generational relationships with the natural and built environments around us. We provide community engagement, outreach, facilitation, research, and creative services to various clients, across multiple sectors impacting the public. We work mainly in Washington and Oregon, with offices in Seattle and Portland. The RoleWe seek a Proposal Manager with five to seven years of hands-on experience in proposal management and strategic pursuit development for consulting firms. The Proposal Manager will be part of our growing business development and marketing team, working closely with company leadership, project managers, and other departments to win new work in the Seattle and Portland markets.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, writing, deadline management, and multi-tasking skills. In addition, they must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and professionalism. Knowledge of the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, community engagement consulting, and the Pacific Northwest region is preferred.
Desired Qualifications- Has experience managing proposal development processes, including outlining tasks, overseeing review cycles, and keeping the team on track
- Experience directing team member’s daily activities and tasks and offering continual coaching and mentorship
- Can proactively manage others to search for RFPs/RFQs and is skilled at making go/no-go recommendations
- Is skilled at reviewing RFPs/RFQs in detail for nuance and critical information and supporting other team members in building their review skills
- Can effectively guide teams in developing winning proposal strategies and content in response to RFP/RFQ requirements
- Comfort working with proposal teams to develop RFP-specific content and approaches, including: drafting outlines, sections of the proposal response, and reviewing other team members’ writing
- Demonstrates exceptional persuasive writing skills and can organize information into clear and compelling content for proposals, resumes, project descriptions, and other marketing materials
- Responds insightfully and quickly to inquiries and requests for information from teaming partners
- Can partner with others to effectively track and analyze marketing and business development metrics and data, including using a CRM platform
- Excels in their attention to detail and ability to multi-task with exceptional organizational and process management skills
- Is an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating with coworkers, external teaming partners, and fellow marketing professionals
- Manages tight deadlines and can juggle multiple projects at once while delivering high-quality work on time
- Demonstrates proficiency in Office 365; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial but optional
- Brings curiosity, creativity, and innovation to their work
- Approaches work with a learning mindset and actively seek solutions to challenges and ways to improve, both personally and collectively

- Occasional weekend and evening work as we want to meet community members where they are. Our work schedules can be flexible depending on event timing and your preferences
