Proposal Engineer- Robotics

Summary
• Evaluates customers' products and specifications and develops a manufacturing plan to produce these products according
to the customer's needs.
• Produces layouts, process descriptions, timing charts, sketches, graphs, content sheets, weld studies and clamping plans for
proposed processes either manually or on AutoCAD.
• Understands ergonomic considerations for proposed processes.
• Reviews processes before they are presented to estimating for quote and review by UTEC management for customer.
• Interprets automotive product drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Maintain knowledge of PC based software such as Microsoft Word and Excel and apply good drafting and/or AutoCAD skills.
• Work with Throughput Simulation Engineers and Robot Simulation Engineers to verify the viability of processes.
• Attend all required meetings to obtain needed information and present processes to UTEC management and customers.
• Exhibit excellent communications skills as well as maintain current technical knowledge.
• Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
• Adhere to the Quality System and participate in continuous improvement. Regular and predictable attendance is an
essential function of this job.
• Utilizes and works with project specialist to fine tune standard spreadsheets with standard cost.
• Maintain knowledge of designs, manufacturing processes and procedures with direct experience in welding, automation
and/or robotic equipment.
• If required, develops written proposal describing proposed scope of work estimated. Understands and follows safety &
environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
• Adheres to the Quality System and participate in continuous improvement.
• Qualifications
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university or 5 years related experience and/or training in accounting
and or financial audit; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in multi-national companies preferred.
• Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, and
customers. Must possess technical writing skills to generate written proposals to the customer.
• Computer Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Adobe, "MS Excel”, PowerPoint.
• Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
