The Proposal and Grants Administrator is responsible for handling the proposal development and preparation needs of the Physics faculty, researchers, and students, identifying funding opportunities, developing budgets and other materials for proposals, confirming all required documents are available for routing and submission, and creating a repository of document samples for faculty use. The incumbent will work closely with Principal Investigators to complete applications for all funding requests and will be responsible for all pre-award preparations, which include PROPOSAL AND budget preparations. The individual is responsible for reviewing all proposal documents and completing pre-award applications for submission in conjunction with the Office of Sponsored Programs. This individual will work with Principal Investigators, sponsors, and pre- and post-award specialists in the Office of Sponsored Programs to resolve potential issues associated with proposals under development in addition to coordinating proposal efforts across departments in the University. Finally, the administrator will also be responsible for completing University effort reporting, reviewing and approving travel and expense reports, and managing department audits as assigned by the Department Director.

- Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of experience, Master's Degree preferred.
- Preferred experience in financial and/or grants management in an academic or research environment
- Experience in budget development, preferred. Knowledge of MS Excel required
- Strong attention to detail, well-organized, good analytical skills, and ability to self-direct work with some assistance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team and among Principal Investigators
