We are looking for a Property & CasualtyUnderwriting Assistantto join our Team.
The Property & Casualty Underwriting Assistantis responsible for supporting the Underwriting Team, using existing guidelines and procedures as needed. This role will gather relevant data for the Underwriting Team and process change/bind/cancel requests for existing business. This position requires communication with agents and carriers, direct data entry into the company portals and issuing systems, and a professional and service-oriented demeanor.
This is a flex position – some office, some remote, with possibility of full-time remote based on experience. Our customer base is in the Northeast so candidates must be able to work during normal EST business hours.
What you will do:
- Process change requests, including cancellations, endorsements, manual renewals, and loss runs reports.
- Support underwriting decisions through file preparation and documentation, ordering, and following up on loss control inspections.
- Meet departmental service level standards.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Act as a team player.
- Strive to attain the highest levels of quality and quantity within set parameters.
- Acknowledge the company’s commitment to its producers by providing prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service via phone and email. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
- Learn varying computer systems and vendor websites, which will require high data entry proficiency.
- Assure the inspection partners are meeting our needs and time service.
- Assist the Operations team and other teams within the company as needed.
What you will bring:
- High school education
- 1-2 years of experience in Property & Casualty Underwriting or insurance-related field.
- Relevant certifications in insurance or underwriting are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Professional demeanor and skill set.

- Problem solver and self-starter.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
