Job Description
Under the direction of the Executive Vice President, performs professional work in all Safety and Education programs in accordance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the transportation, storage, handling and installation of systems of propane within the state.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Develop relationships with other industries (plumbing, home builders, etc.)
- Organize and conduct Safety Seminars
- Organize and conduct on-site training courses as needed
- Organize and conduct CTEP Classes
- Organize and conduct hazmat classes
- Respond to technical/safety inquiries from the public and the industry
- Attend National/Regional meetings
- Manage a DOT safety program
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of training and curriculum, including classroom and other on-the-job educational methods, procedures and techniques; knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to the propane and transportation industry in the state of Kansas.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Excellent Presentation Skills are Required
- Knowledge of the NFPA 54 and 58, DOT Regulations, Kansas Propane Statutes and Administrative Rules, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least five years of practical experience in the propane/natural gas/or related industry is preferred
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- Will consider someone with extensive DOT knowledge
- In-state travel is required; must have a clean driving record
- Ability to tow a training trailer is required
- Will consider part-time or full-time; will consider a hybrid work environment
