Project Researcher ICIQ-MedChem (KTT 2023-06)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Project Researcher to work at the MedChem Unit. This position will be funded by a collaboration contract with an international Pharmaceutical Company.

ICIQ is looking for a Project Researcher with experience in synthetic organic chemistry to work at the MedChem Unit. The researchers will work on the synthesis, analysis and physicochemical characterization of new chemical entities with biological activity.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of synthetic routes to provide target molecules
• Purification, analysis and physicochemical characterization of novel chemical compounds
• Writing reports and delivering result presentations in group meetings
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Complete documentation of results

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or equivalent
• Significant experience in multistep organic synthesis and preparation of high-quality small molecule chemical libraries
• Use of analytical techniques for characterization of chemical compounds (GC, HPLC, NMR, MS, etc.)
• Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
• Strong commitment for scientific excellence

• Availability for immediate incorporation

We offer

• A full-time employment contract for the length of the project (expected end date Dec 2024) with possibility of extension.
• Remuneration according to individual’s qualifications/experience.
• Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.
• Incorporation: February 2024.

Selection Process

ICIQ’s selection process usually entails the following phases:

• Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates’ CVs. This phase is merit-based.
• Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.
• Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is selected, the People Unit will extend a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary and overall job conditions.
