Senspex in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking to hire a Project Networking Field Engineer to perform engineering duties for various types of projects with a focus on hardware/software and network systems integration. Projects will potentially involve diverse technology areas, including network engineering, integrated electronic security solutions, video surveillance systems, optics, access control, and perimeter detection products. The position will involve working directly with customers and the Senspex team members to understand customer requirements, assist in the development work plans, and fulfill contract obligations.

What you'll get to do as an Project Networking Field Engineer:

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, and develop system solutions; perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Perform network engineering solutions by designing, setting up, configuring, and commissioning networks and establishing different protocols to communicate with various devices.
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate camera and network systems, internet systems, or a segment of a network system; perform maintenance to ensure camera systems integrate with networks correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Install or program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.
  • Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrated technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
  • Assist in proposal development to include technical writing, drawing, and costing.
  • Perform project services for installation, documentation, and fulfillment of project.
  • Engineer, install, maintain, or repair camera security systems, programmable logic controls, or other security-related electronic systems.
  • Provide system design and integration recommendations for bids and proposals; assist with proposal writing and cost estimating as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement electromechanical designs in security and surveillance settings; consult with machinists or technicians to ensure that electromechanical equipment or systems meet design specifications.
  • Understand System Design and make adaptations to various network configurations in the field.
  • Analyze engineering designs of logic or digital circuitry, motor controls, instrumentation, or data acquisition for implementation into new or existing automated, servomechanical, or other electromechanical systems.
  • Resolve cross-functional technical issues.

The qualifications we require from you:

  • Degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong networking and Field Engineering background.
  • 3+ years' experience.
  • Fluent in the basic use of Microsoft (MS) Office Tools and is able to independently produce PowerPoint briefings, Word documents, MS Project schedules, and generate and manipulate Excel files.
  • Apply basic systems engineering principals to solve engineering problems.
  • Create process-driven documentation, manage project requirements, and produce project task schedules.
  • Equipment operation, towing, electrical, electronics and radio communications training are preferred
  • Troubleshoot Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Speak in front of a group, be able to train end-users, and facilitate coordination meetings.
  • Ability to work in 2-D CAD design software programs.
  • Ability to travel, up to 40%, for site assessments, troubleshooting, installations, or any other requirement.
  • Ability to certify and cross train into other program areas as required.
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Be a self-starter and work independently to complete and track assigned tasks.
  • Independently work a project with concurrent tasks and communicate status to his/her lead.
  • Ability to accommodate for flexible assignments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

The qualifications we'd like to have from you:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) experience or certification.
  • Background experience in DoD or DHS work.
  • Knowledge of network technologies.
  • A current Secret level security clearance is desired.

  • Must have an acceptable form of ID under the REAL ID Act.
  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Ability to sustain successful background investigation, drug testing, and security clearance.
  • Military training and experience is preferred, but not required.
