Job Duties/Scope Of Work
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is part of the Environmental Field Support organization and provides technical and field support to both Land Management and the Long-Term Stewardship Programs.
Support will include Project Management, development of land/real estate agreements, Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial data and analysis, and surveillance and maintenance. This position works closely with other HMIS functional organizations, Hanford prime contractors and DOE representatives to complete projects and services.
Essential job duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides Project Management for special DOE projects or initiatives for land use, transfer and/or other needs.
- Leads Interdisciplinary teams and ensures adherence to project budgets and timelines.
- Conducts research into historical activities for program-related decisions and other Hanford contractors to obtain and track documentation.
- Performs detailed large data reviews to validate data/figures and evaluate findings.
- Supports the Real Estate Services contract scope, including disposal of real property, land tracking and documentation systems.
- Collects, synthesizes, analyzes, manages, and reports site institutional control and Waste Information Data System (WIDS) site inspection data, such as enhanced recharge drainage, surface barriers, controlled drillings/excavations, ground cover conditions of assigned accepted and active (WIDS) sites.
- Develops GIS spatial analysis and imagery datasets necessary to support the program and makes them available through ArcGIS services and other web-based mapping applications.
- Reviews Records of Decisions and Action Memorandums or other documents to interpret established institutional controls and long-term monitoring requirements.
- Leads reviews/assessments for the Land Stewardship team including the Ten and Five-Year Site plans, Hanford Site Population Projections, Land Assessments/Inquiries, etc.
- Maintains project files to provide documentation of decision-making, project activities and completed actions.
- Interfaces with Hanford Site organizations to communicate Land Management and Long-Term Stewardship program requirements.
- Writes policies, procedures, or user guides and supports demonstrations/training for users of Environmental Field Support software systems.
- May support other Mission Assurance organizations such as safety, environmental and/or quality as required.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree - OR - an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 8 years of experience in environmental, system administration, project management, and/or land management issues.
- Progressive experience in land management or a related capacity, which may include environmental compliance.
- Experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and data collection.
- Must be self-motivated and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Qualifications
* Mapping experience within common systems such as the ESRI platform.
- Database maintenance and improvement and field support experience are needed.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services.
Compensation & Benefits
Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
Grade 19: $114,475 - $144,325
Grade 20: $126,025 - $158,875
