MBA CSi augments the USPS with talented people who want to make a difference. Our customer, the USPS Data and Analytics Office, is responsible for reporting service performance, managing enterprise data sources, leading transformational analytics, and executing advanced modeling across the Postal Service.
The Postal Service has 110 petabytes of storage capacity — equivalent to playing more than 244,000 years of songs with no repeats. Welcome to a Big Data environment. A Big Data environment is a computing environment which generates data that are uncertain, unpredictable, and unstructured in nature. Big Data analytics refers to a collection of processes used to identify patterns from historical data and make policies for the future. That's where you come in.
We are looking for creative and innovative project managers, analysts, and software developers to join us in augmenting the USPS Data and Analytics Office. The USPS is on a ten-year journey based on a plan called, "Delivering for America.”
This plan includes over $40 billion in capital investments over the next ten years.
- $20 billion towards our mail and package processing network, including USPS facility space upgrades and procurement of new processing equipment.
- $19 billion towards our retail and delivery network, including upgrades to retail lobby spaces and acquisition of a Next Generation Delivery Vehicle fleet.
- $2 billion in technology upgrades, including upgrades to major IT systems.

The Project Manager will provide a project oversight function for our critical customer, the US Postal Service. The position requires three days per week in office (Memphis, TN or Merrifield, VA) and two days remote. The PM will identify project goals, objectives and scope, and will create project plans/documentation that outline the tasks, timelines, and resources required. Communicates with the project team and stakeholders, manages risks and issues, and monitors progress to ensure that the project stays on track. Provides reporting to upper management regarding status of the project.
Roles Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple Big Data projects to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Organize and plan Big Data project tasks and schedules.
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and key project participants.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure Big Data projects are completed successfully.
- Delegate work to team members based on skill and expertise.
- Create presentations and reports to communicate project status.
- Address questions and concerns throughout the project.
- Keep application development team focused on the tasks needed to support the end goal.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details.
- Work with functional leads to transform and develop new requirements into designs and implementation.
- Develop, maintain and perform processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity in platform applications.
- Create and maintain workflows, approval processes, and validation rules based on internal stakeholder requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, information technology, or related fields, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cloud project management.
- Understanding of Cloud computing terminology.
- Understanding of main Cloud providers (AWS, Azure (preferred), GoogleCloud).
- Understanding of deployment modules (public, private, hybrid).
- Understanding of Cloud security risks, compliance, and scalability.
- Understanding of Data Governance.
- Experience with Software development lifecycle, Agile Project Management using VersionOne software.
- Proficient in managing cross functional teams.
- Proven working experience in project management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communications skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, which includes Visio and Teams.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Experience with project management software tools.
- Able to work independently
