POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technology Business Manager assists in defining objectives of projects and provides oversight in accordance with priority, scope, and contractual specifications and objectives. The Technology Business Manager serves as the customer’s point-of-contact and internal advocate during length of the contractual relationship, including ongoing hosted solutions. This role communicates project updates to management personnel. The Technology Business Manager executes project management and accountability methods and processes during the length of customer relationship, particularly those represented to customers as a key value proposition to their relationship with ONEIL. Coaches, develops, mentors, and trains direct reports to ensure their success.
The Technology Business Manager supports the ongoing sales process by generating and closing sales opportunities within assigned customer accounts. This role supports sales forecasts, manages strategic accounts, develops strategies, and delivers sales presentations in person or via video teleconferencing. The Technology Business Manager has demonstrated sales skills, including proven telephone sales ability knowledge and understanding of both commercial manufacturing and/or aerospace and defense industries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees assigned programs to ensure projects are completed within established timeline, budgeted hours, and company and customer guidelines
- Creates, negotiates, monitors, revises, and maintains program plans, schedules, and project specification throughout the life of the project including ongoing hosted solutions; may need to coordinate with other program managers within the company
- Establishes and maintains a good relationship with the customer and acts as a point-of-contact during the total life of the project
- Develops strong presentations to convey business value, set expectations, and promote additional software solutions to prospective customers and existing clients
- Provides and/or identifies sales opportunities for increased sales with customer or strategic accounts assigned
- Follows up on new leads and referrals for services; identifies sales prospects and passes that information to the appropriate Sales/Business Development team member
- Evaluates customers’ needs and builds productive long-lasting relationships
- Develops sales quotes for approved software or services and routes to appropriate customer personnel
- Prepares sales presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
- Manages services performed through quality checks and other follow-up measures to ensure customer satisfaction
- Identifies and resolves client concerns; escalates to appropriate personnel when necessary
- Prepares status reports for new and existing client business
- Works with management in coordinating company staff to complete work as outlined
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- General office environment; required to use office equipment required to sit/stand for long periods of time
- May be required to travel by motor vehicle and/or airplane to complete job requirements with overnight travel; estimated to be 50 percent; may be required to travel internationally
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Science (BS) in technology, graphic arts, business administration, sales, communication, or related field, or equivalent work experience is required
Experience:
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience in technology and software development is required
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience of outside sales experience
- Previous commercial industry sales experience
- Previous technology solution sales experience
Technical Experience:
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience with Agile, Water Fall, Object Oriented, or similar software development methodology is preferred
- Use of Customer Relationship Management solutions experience is preferred
License / Certification:
- Must maintain valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
