The Project Manager, Transformation Office, oversees project management activities for strategic initiatives across various Transformation Office Workstreams (e.g., Sales, Digital, Pricing, Assortment, Warehouse, Transportation, Stock Yards, Direct Procurement, Indirect Procurement, etc). Leading all phases of the project lifecycle, utilizing traditional, agile, and/or hybrid methodologies, this role ensures project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with different operational domains within US Foods. Crucial for driving successful implementation of strategic company initiatives, the Project Manager collaborates with internal stakeholders, leads high-performing project teams, and utilizes internal tools, resources, and processes to enable successful initiative implementation.

This position has been segmented as Virtual/100% Remote meaning the work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii or United States Territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure. (i.e initiation, planning, executing monitor & control and closure)

  • Develop and implement project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets leveraging organizational processes, tools, and artifacts.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deliverables.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with Transformation Office Leadership and stakeholders.

  • Monitor project progress, critical interdependencies, identify and mitigate risks, and address issues as they arise.

  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.

  • Facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status updates, and project reviews.

  • Communicate project status, including milestones, risks, and changes, to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to maximize team performance and satisfaction.

  • Educate and influence internal stakeholders on the core concepts and principles of waterfall, hybrid, and/or agile project delivery, providing continuous feedback

  • Evaluate project outcomes and lessons learned to inform future projects and initiatives.

Relationships:

  • Internal: Interacts with Transformation Office leaders, Operations & Commercial Excellence teams, Operations & Commercial functional leads, Support Office Leads (e.g. Finance, HR, IT) and field staff.

  • External: Not Applicable

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience

  • Proficient with project management tools, MS-Project and/or other project management software and Microsoft Office applications

  • 25% Travel

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Certifications/Training:

  • Certification preferred: examples include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified Project Manager (CPM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI – ACP).

  • Project Management Proficiency : Proficient in all aspects of project management, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, risk mitigation, and communication. Ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.

  • Effective Communication: Skilled in conveying ideas clearly and persuasively, fostering trust and credibility with senior leaders and team members. Proficient in managing meetings and facilitating discussions to drive collaboration and decision-making.

  • Strategic Planning: Demonstrates the ability to think strategically and anticipate risks, ensuring alignment of project initiatives with organizational goals. Capable of developing creative solutions to overcome challenges and drive successful outcomes.

  • Business Acumen: Possesses a deep understanding of business strategy, operational frameworks, and financial principles, enabling informed decision-making and support for company initiatives.

  • Team Leadership: Exhibits strong leadership qualities in guiding project teams towards achieving objectives. Empowers team members, fosters collaboration, and ensures accountability to drive project success.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in building and nurturing relationships across diverse teams and departments, facilitating alignment and resource-sharing to accomplish company-wide goals.

  • Critical Thinking: Able to analyze complex situations, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions to solve problems and optimize project outcomes. Applies logical reasoning and strategic insight to address challenges effectively.

The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado , the expected compensation for this role is between $91,100 - $121,500. In New York , the expected compensation for this role is between $107,500 - $143,300. In California , the expected compensation for this role is between $102,100 - $136,200. In Washington , the expected compensation for this role is between $$102,100 - $136,200. This role is also eligible for sign-on bonus and annual incentive plan bonus.
