Title: Project Manager (PM)
Location: Remote
Role: The PM will lead an interdisciplinary team that creates and updates digital and paper-based courses used by Air Force personnel who serve in the civil engineer career field. The PM is responsible for managing the work according to all performance criteria. The PM works with the customer and corporate assets to create and maintains the Project Management Plan, a living document which includes the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), organizational structure of the project team, Project/Milestone Schedule, deliverables and acceptance criteria, quality control and metrics, risk assessment and mitigation, and cost reporting. The PM uses project management software to produce and maintain the project plan. The supported customer is the Air Force Civil Engineer Center at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL. Duties:
- Develop and maintain the project management plan and the plan’s associated components for managing project costs, schedule, delivery, quality, personnel, and risk.
- Manage the project team; serve as supervisor for designated staff and prepare their annual performance evaluations.
- Attend contract-specified meetings and maintain strong communications with the government’s lead.
- Create the WBS and work with APV corporate leaders to allocate resources (people, time, and tools) to accomplish every work package.
- Provide all deliverables and required reports on time in accordance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with the customer to establish appropriate metrics to monitor quality and project risks.
- Convene lessons learned meetings at critical times as part of APV’s commitment to continuous improvement.
- Participate in monthly project reviews with APV’s Program Management Office and corporate leadership.
Technical:
- Clear evidence of having used modern project management software; experience using JIRA™ is a plus.
- Comfortable using the MS Office suite of software, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Certifications:
- Certification as a Project Management Professional.
- Other certifications or evidence of advanced training in project-relevant disciplines are a plus but are not required.
Experience:
- At least three years as Project Manager leading a team of at least 5 people, with a team size of 10 or more preferred.
- Experience with federal government contracts.
- Experience using Agile, waterfall, and hybrid project management techniques.
