Project Manager, North America Strategic PMO - Decatur, IL
This is a full-time, exempt position.
The department:
The Strategic Project Management Office (PMO) enables the realization of benefits to ADM, through the delivery of projects and/or programs that have been approved and classified as 'high priority' by the designated authority within ADM. The Strategic PMO is the regional center of expertise in project and program management at ADM, whereby through best practice and functional knowledge value is created through project delivery.
The role:
In your role as Project Manager you have the authority to run projects on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the business sponsor and ADM leadership. You will manage complex, interdisciplinary projects comprising experts from the business segments and the corporate functions. The Project Manager's prime responsibility is to ensure that the project delivers to the agreed standard of quality and within the specified constraints of cost, time and benefit.
Responsibilities:
The main duties of this role will include:
Plan, manage and monitor the delivery of projects from project initiation to project closure
Define and implement overall project governance structure and provide clear roles and responsibilities for the project team and key stakeholders
Redefine and optimize business processes and organizational structures to support the implementation of ADM's strategy
Manage mid- to larger scales acquisitions, joint ventures & divestments
Ensure that projects produce the required deliverables to defined standards of quality within agreed cost, time and other constraints
Identify and manage risks and issues, including the development of contingency plans
Manage 3rd party suppliers (where applicable)
Requirements:
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate must have:
A bachelor or master degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting is a requirement. A master degree in a business related subject, on top of aforementioned degree, is considered an advantage
At least 3 years of professional project management experience with a proven track record of successful project delivery is a requirement. Relevant industry experience is an advantage.
Demonstrated experience in driving or assisting process improvements initiatives is a requirement, whereby exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies is considered an advantage
Experience in managing or supporting M&A due diligence and integration processes is considered an advantage
Experience in managing or supporting CAPEX projects is considered an advantage
The ability to think 'outside the box' and to work and communicate at a conceptual level as well as at a hands-on, practical level
A PMP or PRINCE 2 certification or the willingness to obtain this certification is a requirement
(International) business engagement and change management experience
Good knowledge of MS Office (including MS Project)
Willingness to travel up to 10% of time
