SUMMARY
Manages new product commercialization projects from concept to shipping and proactively participates in support functions, e.g., packaging dieline creation, pre-production trials, customer meetings for new project details necessary to launch projects on time and within budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned)
- Develops long-term relationships with internal stakeholders who provide input for commercializing new products. Develops a trusted advisor relationship with Warrell Sr. Leadership, NPD project stakeholders and outside suppliers.
- Manages new product development projects from prototype design through post-launch serving as the commercialization point person for new projects as they are assigned.
- Develops and manages timelines, project tasks and project details for assigned NPD projects, including scope changes and action items in compliance with stage gate process. Follows up with core team members to ensure projects timelines are met.
- Works closely with functional areas, including R&D, Operations, Procurement, Costing team, Production, Quality Assurance and Warehousing, to insure accurate and current ingredients, packaging, QA testing, costing, and other relevant project components.
- Records project updates and critical NPD meeting notes and distributes them with current to-do task lists to key personnel weekly.
- Arranges and/or participates in customer calls to gather new project details and provide project updates.
- Works closely with packaging suppliers to develop new dielines as needed.
- Proactively engages with projects as a contributing resource focused on keeping projects on time and within budget.
Some travel required. This is an in-person role; it has no hybrid or remote work component; this function requires 5 days a week physically present in the facility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – Undergraduate degree or higher preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience required in project management, technical sales, customer service or product development in the food industry. Large manufacturing company experience desired. High degree of proficiency in with Microsoft products. Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented philosophy. Sound judgment. Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to translate big picture ideas into client objectives.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS – Affiliation or membership with food industry organization(s) preferred.
Some travel required. This job has no work from home component. The expectation is that this person will work on site unless traveling for the company.
