Project Manager Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget, plan and designate project resources, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed. Consistently communicate with staff, vendors, and contractors, make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. 

Essential Job Duties

Ÿ  Plan, organize, and direct the completion of specific projects while ensuring these projects are on time, and within scope

Ÿ  Oversee all aspects of projects.  Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor, and summarize progress of project.  Present reports regarding status of project to General Manager

Ÿ  Oversee complex projects for inception to completion, helping maximize company efficiencies.  Defines main objectives of the project, its purpose and its scope

·        Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner

·        Prepare scope of work and resource requirements

·        Track project costs to meet budget

·        Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan

·        Provide project updates, adjustments, and progress

·        Monitor progress and adjust as needed

·        Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers. communicating expected deliverables

·        Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

·        Creating long- and short-term plans

·        Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them

·        Serving as a point of contact for contractors and vendors

·        Protect the team from distractions

·        Lead the team in working through project changes

·        Release any resources (contractors) who are no longer needed for the project

·        Review the work of third-party vendors to close their contracts and pay their invoices

·        Archive project files for future reference and use

·        Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

·        Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

·        Meet with contractors to review details and clarify specific requirements of each project

·        Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels

·        Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs

Qualifications

Ÿ  Seven years experience that includes all areas of plant manufacturing operations

Ÿ  Five years department management experience

Ÿ  Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ÿ  Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing

Ÿ  Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Ÿ  Demonstrated ability to show good judgment and initiative and have excellent analytical problem solving skills

Ÿ  Aptitude for math and able to analyze, compare, and interpret facts and figures as well as proficient using business systems and computers

Ÿ  Ability to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behavior and comply with all federal and state laws and regulations

Ÿ  Ability to work collaboratively with others and foster cooperative relationships and credibility at all levels of the organization

Ÿ  Possess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple projects and consistently meet all deadlines

Ÿ  Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, manage and resolve conflicts or crises and follow up

Ÿ  Proven record for using good judgment and make sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems and take decisive action based on well documented facts

Ÿ  Ability to develop an organizational culture that fosters teamwork, develop staff and motivate others to perform well

Ÿ  Effectively control costs through economical utilization of personnel, materials and equipment

Ÿ  Demonstrated ability to develop project plans, communicate changes and progress, displays a commitment to excellence and looks for innovative ways to improve and promote quality

Ÿ  Demonstrated ability to make persuasive presentations, use power and influence others and assert authority when challenged
