Our location in Canton, Georgia is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our IT team. This position will be hybrid with 2-3 days in office, and 2-3 days remote. All candidates should be comfortable with days in the office as necessary to effectively manage projects.

Position Summary

  • 10+ years of experience in a pure PM role. (No managers titles that say you do PM work as part of your role.)
  • Career PM’s only – you love PM work and that is what you want to do, you are not looking for your next promotion or changing career path.

Position Objective

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong project management skills to drive the successful execution of critical, complex, and impactful business initiatives. The Project Manager will provide leadership and transparency through all phases of the program/project lifecycle for initiatives and assignments, such as planning, design, development, and deployment. The Project Manager will ensure project scope, schedule, quality, and benefits are adequately defined and delivered.

This role will effectively lead projects and projects teams to ensure that project progress is communicated to all stakeholders. Successful candidates will not only have outstanding program and project management skills, but also exceptional interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Overseeing projects.
  • Plan and drive execution of initiatives in partnership with internal and cross functional teams.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in driving conversations and/or influencing decisions/direction with business, technology, and functional partners
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors, and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Identify priorities and manage multiple workstreams coordinating activities across departments ensuring deliverables are tracked in line with due dates.
  • Identify creative and timely solutions to key challenges while motivating the project teams to complete critical tasks.
  • Track project progress and report effectively on status, blockers, and changes. Accountable for creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules, scorecards, and plans. Creates materials and present at Steering Committees as applicable.
  • Track resourcing of projects and drive resource balancing between different program priorities.
  • Manage, analyze, track, and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies as well as chair regular review meetings.

Skills Required

  • You love to be a Project Manager and have worked complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • You know how to create reports, analyses or scorecards for the management team and have strong verbal and written presentation skills.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing retail-related systems projects (ERP, WMS, eCommerce, etc).
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Successful budget management experience, including financial acumen.
  • Experience managing projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Industry-specific experience in retail is preferred.
  • Proficiency in risk management and the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Strong background in quality control or quality assurance to maintain project standards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A master's degree or higher education is preferred for this role.
  • Preferred certifications include PMP (Project Management Professional) or Scrum Master.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is encouraged.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, SmartSheets, Jira, or Trello is desirable.
