What You'll Do:
The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for providing project management for functional, and cross-functional programs and/or projects. The PM will support the execution of projects by leading teams and following project management methodologies and standards developed under the Global Transformation Management Office (GTMO) and in partnership with PMOs (Portfolio Managers) and other stakeholders.
The Project Manager assigned to the Finance organization will report directly to the Global Finance PMO and will support the execution of various strategic & and foundational projects that could span all areas of the business
Key Responsibilities
- Manage execution of complex strategic and foundational projects, exercising organizational, leadership, and management skills to successfully deliver projects
- Lead and facilitate functional and sometimes cross-functional teams in defining project goals, deliverables, milestones, resources, budget, and schedule
- Provide timely and accurate communications to stakeholders, including overall status, health, and business benefits tracking for projects
- Provide leadership, planning, tracking, benchmarking, and reporting to effectively manage projects
- Manage oversight of project-level financial management, including managing to the achievement of the business case
- Lead project teams in implementing and applying standard processes for risk management, issue management, quality assurance, and project communications
- Anticipate resourcing needs and develop/modify plans accordingly to achieve desired results
- Facilitate and contribute to the continuous improvement of a standard PM methodology including, but not limited to, project execution, approval, and reporting based on standard PMI practices adopted by the GTMO
- Apply structured Change Management methods to projects and lead change management activities, including stakeholder assessment, communication, training/ coaching, and resistance management
- Facilitate and contribute to the continuous improvement of a standard Change Management methodology, consisting of an Organizational Change Management toolkit with processes, techniques, and templates
- Mentor and train business team members to build consistent project management and change management practices across the function

What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management or similar fields (must be from an accredited institution)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management required
- Project Management Certification (PMP) highly desired
- Experience working in a matrixed organization beneficial
Other Skills
- Proven experience in managing financial projects, with a strong understanding of financial principles and best practices; experience working on projects involving reporting, controls, and compliance is beneficial
- End-to-end process mindset focused on streamlining workflows, implementing systematic improvements, and ensuring integration and efficiency across all stages to enhance overall performance across complex processes
- Effective leader of cross-functional teams (including outside of Finance); ability to work collaboratively with and through others
- Strong knowledge of project lifecycle and industry-leading program and project management practices and methodologies
- Demonstrated project management planning/ execution skills with a record of leading large projects to obtain tangible business results
- Demonstrated business knowledge and excellence in building relationships with internal and external teams
- Ability to drive project management standards across the organization by helping functional teams understand, see, and utilize its benefits
- Ability to influence, inform, and collaborate with all levels of leadership
- Task and resource management experience
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills
- Critical Thinking and ability to navigate multiple priorities
- Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10%
- Minimum of 3 days office presence per week for Chicago, IL location
