The Project Manager will lead cross-functional initiatives by helping teams define the scope, deliverables, and schedules of projects; managing projects and driving accountability across multiple teams and stakeholders; and driving clear and consistent documentation for the organization. The Project Manager will also serve in a supplemental staffing role for critical workstreams and projects when additional capacity is needed within the organization.
Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and with supervised direction. Additionally, professionals with a passion for community development and experience with social services projects are highly desired.
The home office for Enterprise Community Development and Enterprise Residential is in Baltimore. Enterprise also has offices in Columbia, Silver Spring, Washington, DC, and New York City, and satellite offices elsewhere. The Project Manager will be assigned a primary office location by their respective manager for regular in-person attendance and meetings. Video conferencing is used almost daily and on multiple occasions within a workday.
The option to be fully remote is available for this position if the candidate is not near one of Enterprise’s office locations. In a fully remote position, Enterprise may request the candidate travel to the Baltimore home office several times a year (not to exceed quarterly) in order to meet with project teams and build relationships.
- Lead and manage assigned projects throughout all phases of delivery (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing)
- Serve as a project support manager to senior Project Manager as needed.
- Ability to adjust project management style or method based on the project goals, timeline, and project team’s needs.
- Serve in a supplemental staff role for workstreams or projects that require additional capacity above and beyond assigned staff.
- Lead project initiation and planning for assigned projects: driving documentation of project charter, scope, estimated schedule/budget, staffing needs, risks, success measures, project escalation procedures, and communication plan.
- Drive execution of assigned projects by tracking progress of workstreams, ensuring efforts with multiple participants remain in synergy, identifying and resolving roadblocks/issues, elevating to senior management as needed and communicating progress on schedule/milestone(s)/budget.
- Facilitate decisioning process between multiple individuals or departments through all phases of a project.
- Provide routine status updates and reports to project sponsors and organization executives, written and verbally, and develop supporting materials.
- Complete project closeout checklists, document lessons learned, and provide summary materials for organization leadership on project results.
- Assist with ad hoc research projects as assigned, researching or consolidating information for department leadership.
- Provide administrative support for the PMO team as needed, including (but not limited to) assisting with the project request intake process and documenting PMO processes.
- 4 years of professional experience coordinating work between multiple teams with exceptional multitasking, adaptability, and prioritizing skills as well as experience working in a fast-paced office environment
- 3 years of project management experience, 2 years' experience with leading cross-functional/cross-departmental projects for an organization
- 1-2 years' experience driving process improvement work with demonstrated excellent project management skills.
- Experience with multiple project management methods, including Traditional/Waterfall (PMP) and Scrum/Agile, project management certifications preferred (such as PMP, CSM, etc.)
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 work environment and SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the ability to troubleshoot.
- Ability to assess operations within the project scope for opportunities for improvement (such as more efficient processes, improved use of technology, closing gaps in information, etc.) and ability to drive conversations about recommended improvements.
- Ability to lead projects that begin with a lot of unknown factors, comfort with assisting the project team in discovery, research, and development of the right solution.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, comfort with providing updates or presentations to various levels of leadership, stakeholders, and teams.
- Attention to detail including tracking budget/finance information, following documentation procedures, and collecting accurate progress/impact data
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals and teams across an organization.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to take on new challenges or tasks.
