Job Description:
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Clinical ResearchProject Manager for the Louisiana Clinical and Translational Science (LA CaTS) Center NIH (IDeA-CTR) grant, for the Administrative Core.
The Project Manager will assist with projects that include, but not limited to, administrative supplements, ancillary, multi-institutional, collaborative, and pilot projects. The Project Manager will support the LA CaTS Center Director and the leads of identified special projects to help with facilitation, efficiency, reporting of progress, and identifying barriers to ensure these projects stay on target. The ideal candidate should have strong project coordination skills and a background in research to track and manage particularly complex projects and NIH supplements from pre- to post-award, a basic understanding of the research process.
Major Responsibilities
- Facilitate project start-up/pre-award with administrative team (i.e. help with NIH forms, budgets, identifying key personnel, setting up team meetings, training, etc.).
- Manage awarded projects post award, including tracking project milestones and budgetary spending.
- Assist with administrative projects related to the operations and tracking of the overall LA CaTS grant as needed.
- Report project progress, both written and verbal.
- Report any issues and plan for corrective action with the project lead.
- Assist with regulatory/IRB submissions.
- Assist with NIH submissions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of one year of research experience as a study coordinator or research support staff.
- Familiarity with IRBs and research budgets.
- Proficient writing skills to produce and assist with various reports.
- Ability to multi-task between projects on a day-to-day basis.
- Highly organized and able to work both in a team environment & independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn other technical platforms and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Project Manager or coordinator for multi-site trials or NIH Center grants.
- Experience with obtaining IRB approval.
- Familiar with NIH guidelines, grant submissions and reporting requirements.
- Experience with developing budgets within NIH requirements.
- Experience utilizing and managing Endnote and SharePoint.
