CONTRACT POSTION: Jones Mayer is seeking a highly organized remote Project Manager for immediate hire. Candidate will support the day-to-day case and project management of complex receivership projects.
A Health & Safety Receivership is a tool whereby cities and counties ask the Superior Court to appoint court officers over severely substandard and dilapidated properties. We are unique in that we serve both as legal counsel to public agencies in having receivers appointed and as the court appointed receiver when nominated by other cities and counties.
Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Regularly attend onsite property inspections and report findings and status
- Assist with occupant outreach and communications, when necessary
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by 3rd party vendors
- Prepare and present regular reports detailing the progress of each project
- Provide photographic documentation of project status upon inspection
- Maintain project schedules and tracking logs
- Enter time for billing and reporting purposes
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and conference calls
- Resolve any problems that may arise to ensure the project is completed within the agreed timeframe
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years previous project management experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (verbal/written)
- Ability to travel within California; Please have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license and insurance
- Much of this travel will be regional to property sites to attend inspections, subcontractor meetings and to provide regular oversight of the project
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
- Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; ability to follow directions
- Ability to handle a high volume of communications and complex case management
- Highly organized and excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of mortgages, title, lending processes, accounting, bank accounts, budgeting and escrow processes a plus
- Knowledge of general building/construction process a plus
- Specific experience with Health & Safety, Business & Professions Code or Rents & Profits Receiverships a plus
Employment Type: Remote, with some on-site work, variable hour 1099 independent contractor position.
Hourly rate: $28-32/hr (DOE); travel/mileage reimbursement
