As a member of the L&H Engineering Team, the Project Manager is responsible for making sure all customer projects are completed on time and on budget
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages customer projects from Sales Order to delivery/startup ensuring project is completed on-time and on budget
- Acts as central point of contact for customer/sales as well as project team
- Communicates status updates throughout project lifecycle to key stakeholders in sales/customer, engineering, and manufacturing
- Reviews project specs, organizes notes, gathers preliminary project information, and creates/maintains milestone schedule
- Manages and maintains project documents and project folder in Vault
- Responsible for the QAP
- Facilitates and document results of Hand-Off Meeting, project meetings, and MFG kick-off meeting
- Establishes project milestones and manages project schedule
- Maintains key project dates in Apogee
- Coordinates with Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing to have components and documentation available on schedule
- Works to identify project risks and coordinates/implements actions to mitigate
- Provides support to Engineering activities as needed during high work load situations, drafting, modeling etc.
- Manages the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process and Ensures any updates or changes get implemented in timely manner to support project milestones
- Creates and routes ECN document(s)
- Creates/updates web quotes to support ECN’s
- Manages resource and scheduling impacts
- Manages NCR process for issues that arise during project
- Creates NCR documentation
- Facilitates meeting with appropriate parties to review non-conformance and assign action items, as needed
- Closes out NCR documentation when completed
- Participates in monthly NCR meetings with management to review
- Ensures use of company technical standards for design and engineering.
- Conducts weekly shop quality audits
- Processes unused or incorrect material for return at end of project.
- Manages project closeouts
- Check emails into Vault
- Ensure drawings get updated and As-Built by Engineering
- Ensure Material BOM is updated by Engineering
- Ensure quote BOM is updated by Quote Coordinator
- Turn in project folder to Operations
- Manages and coordinates the resolution of warranty/customer issues

Education
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or Technical school
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Engineering preferred
Skills/Competencies

- Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office software tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio

Language Ability
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Need to have a basic knowledge of AutoDesk Vault as well as a proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor. Other programs that are helpful to know are Frame Generator as well as I-logic.
