Project Manager
DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- The purpose of this position is to cultivate the timely solicitation, qualifying, development, execution, invoicing, and collection for construction services of Taylor Brothers Construction Co. clients. The primary emphasis shall be on developing relationships that generate sales and service opportunities.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Senior Project Manager
- Supervises: Project Management Assistant
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Required: Associates Degree in Construction Management or related field or 1 - 2 years in the construction industry.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field or 3-5 years in the construction industry.
Licensing/Registration/Certification
- Required: Divers License
- Preferred: OSHA 30
Experience
- Required: Three years of experience as an Estimator or Project Manager at an equivalent sized construction or construction related company.
- Preferred: Five years of experience as an Estimator or Project Manager at an equivalent sized construction or construction related company.
Skills and Abilities
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work. Must be accurate with all work, including computer data entry.
Knowledge
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations as required for preparation of reports. Must be able to sufficiently communicate, both verbally and in writing, technical and business information.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work will be performed in the office most of the time. Occasional trips to job sites and meetings will be required. Travel to conferences, meetings, and overnight may be occasionally required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day operations for various projects in such a manner that the work flow is smooth, the bids are completed on time with the quality required to serve the Customer’s needs.
- Provide positive support services to the estimating and production teams. This includes assisting in the coordination of all projects to ensure the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Company.
- Continue to monitor customer satisfaction, aggressively seek new business opportunities, and develop these opportunities into sales for the Company'
- Prepare progress billings and job cost reports as required in a timely and accurate manner for delivery to the appropriate administrative staff. This includes, but is not limited to time worked by employees on assigned projects, project inventory information, and approving invoices in a timely manner.
- Identify and properly document all changes in scope or items of extra cost and aggressively work for the collection of money due.
- Maintain constant awareness of the Company's legal liability, managing the exposure professionally and maintaining proper documentation.
- Develop and implement transfer procedures for passing off complex projects to other members of the project management team that provides for a smooth and seamless transition for the customers or clients.
- Responsible for assisting in developing manpower requirements for the projects being constructed
