Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with previous automotive project experience to work with our internal assembly leadership to obtain continuous project updates, monitors projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion, within scope and budget, while proactively communicating with internal team members and external clients/automotive customers regarding project progress. Maintains detailed project status spreadsheets/reports. Requires regular client interaction to relay detailed and time sensitive project status information to high profile automotive customer clients, including difficult client conversations relaying that projects are delayed or not going to meet customer’s timeline for delivery/completion.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Schedule and lead weekly project management meetings to ensure that all project members are aware of their deliverables, timing and commitments/falling behind statuses
- Create and maintain project management spreadsheets/tools to capture ongoing statuses of a high volume of projects.
- Input new project details, timelines, etc. in project reporting spreadsheets.
- Assess and communicate the impact of scope changes to internal and external customers.
- Work with customers to ensure all necessary resources are in place to accept delivery.
- Develop timing of projects and insert projects appropriately into the pipeline to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Foster an effective relationship with customer contacts.
- Gather and archive key customer contact correspondence and documents.
- Coordinate customer site visits for project status or project sign-off meetings.
- Act as key team member to ensure customer project deadlines are met.
- Keep current on internal and external project processes, such as - time in testing, engineering design timing, build timing, etc.
- Maintain regular client contact and communicate problems and successes timely.
- Professionally escalate issues and facilitate resolution for project success.

Qualifications and Skills Required
- Previous project management experience required, including monitoring project scope, budget, schedules, resolving issues and reporting statuses. Previous automotive industry/Tier One automotive supplier experience highly desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college courses or certificate in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under aggressive deadlines and respond to constant change
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
- Excellent client interaction skills – both written and verbal, and a natural ability to form positive relationships even when communicating less than positive updates/statuses.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
- Intermediate understanding of computer software.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime.
