Team up with Marine Services Operation (MSO) as we keep the most powerful Navy the world has known afloat and ready to serve.
The selected Project Manager candidate will support MSO, managing and overseeing several projects and providing expert solutions for shipboard alterations and installations in the accomplishment of fleet modernization.
Selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around the country and abroad when not assigned to a local task. Per Diem provided based on location when on travel. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company.
What You Will Do...

  • Display high levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement, and performance consistent with company values.
  • Engage with planning and program performance, addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract.
  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Manage, oversee, schedule, and assign tasks efficiently to multiple jobs to meet production standards and schedules on various contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center while maintaining budgetary constraints.
  • Review status of projects and budgets; prepare status reports and conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific operations, scheduling or phases of projects or contracts.
  • Develop and maintain engaging relationships with customer representatives and subcontractors for continued business growth.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with Project Managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Participatory production involvement only when required to assist in meeting schedule or to resolve technical or operational problems.
  • Develop and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
  • Take responsibility for the direct supervision and management of staff and provide objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
  • Ensure performance of decisions that support accomplishment of organizational objectives.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to complete assignments would normally result in serious delays to assigned projects resulting in considerable expenditure of additional time, human resources, and funds.

What You Must Have ...
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have 4 years relevant progressive HM&E installation experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive HM&E installation experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive HM&E installation experience.
  • Must have minimum of 2 years' experience as an HM&E installation team lead on US Navy surface ships or submarines.
  • Expert knowledge is required in the installation and modification of naval shipboard electrical systems.
  • Competent knowledge required in other naval shipboard systems as required for complete HM&E installations, i.e. structural, piping and mechanical systems.
  • Must have ability to read and interpret NAVSEA standards, documentation, procedures, and practices required for naval installations.
  • Must be able to plan and estimate incoming requests for bids.
  • Experience required in the oversight of projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees.
  • Must be proficient in the use of PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs including, but not limited to: Microsoft Excel and Project.
  • Must be able to interface and communicate effectively with employees, customers, and management.
  • Must be able to follow/enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment.
  • Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.

Preferred: Bonus points for...
  • Prefer candidates with active Secret Clearance.
  • Candidate with previous shipboard project management experience highly desired.

Physical Requirements
May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
