Job Overview

We have a newly created opportunity for a Project Management Office Quality andRisk Management Manager. In this role you will be accountable for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes and standards to ensure that project deliverables meet predefined benchmarks and align with organization objectives.
Addition responsibilities include:

  • identifying potential project risks, conducting formal risk assessments, and developing strategies with project managers to mitigate or eliminate risks that could impact project timelines, costs, deliverables, or outcomes.
  • advising embedded Project Managers on how to implement Risk Management strategies and procedures to proactively address and minimize project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • compliance monitoring and ensuring that NARGM project practices comply with Komatsu and industry standards, regulations and internal policies and business strategies.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation relating to quality measures, risk assessments, mitigation strategies and internal audit requirements. Provide regular reports to stakeholders on Quality and Risk Management activities.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with leaders, project managers, project teams and stakeholders to define and gather all necessary data to align quality standards and Risk Management with overall PMO goals. Standardize processes wherever possible.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance Quality and Risk Management processes for improved efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that PMO objectives and deliverables around Quality and Risk Management are met, and expectations are aligned.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Mentor and develop Project Managers understanding of NARGM project quality standards and Risk Management and ensure that they comply with the established Komatsu standards and regulations.
  • Ongoing Professional Development: Maintain knowledge of current project and program management best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, IS, computer science, Project Management or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience of defining and managing project quality standards and Risk Management in a large global organization.
  • 1+ year of prior leadership experience
  • Experience of working with multiple national cultures … Japanese experience is highly desirable, also Europe, Australasia, and the Americas
  • Ability and willingness to explore and implement innovative approaches and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in helping to build something from scratch and then scale up as needed.
  • Strong focus on Project Management best practices and industry standards.
  • Able to establish, build upon and maintain positive and effective relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, up, down, and across.
  • Self-motivated, with an ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to identify issues in existing quality standards and Risk Management processes and propose and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Able to communicate clearly and talk and translate both IT and business languages.
  • Experience with multiple project methodologies and tools, i.e., MS Project, Power BI, Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, Lean, Scrum, etc.
