Description
Immediate openings for a qualified Project Inspector at the Ohio Turnpike. This project will run from Norwalk to Sandusky.
If you are a motivated person with heavy highway construction inspection experience this might be your ideal job. We need ODOT pre-qualified candidates with structures certification. Prior OTIC experience is preferred.
The Project Inspector will be responsible for:

• Inspection of various roadway and bridge projects
• Oversight of the contractor's quality control operations
• Quality assurance sampling and testing
• Daily communication with the client, contractors, and field project personnel
• Use survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, and test equipment such as nuclear density gauges, air meters, and slump cones to perform inspections.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
• Compile and submit field reports
• Previous inspection experience

Requirements
Required Education and Certification/s must meet one of the below:
HS Diploma or GED
Current diver's license
Previous inspection experience (1600 hours)
AND

• Highway testing certification includes but not limited to:
• ACI Concrete Field Testing-Grade I
• ACI Aggregate Testing Technician-Level 1

OR

• Ohio Aggregate Level 1

AND one of the following certifications

• ODOT Flexible Pavement
• ODOT Traffic Work Zone Test
• CUF (Complete ODOT Commercially Useful Function) Training
