Summary:

The Project Excellence Manager is responsible for establishing excellence in pre-sales through commissioning of our systems – identifying and implementing strategies to enhance and drive value to our customers and internal employees. They will identify and implement strategies to execute internal initiatives and customer engagements more effectively and with a higher level of consistency – essentially optimizing the way we show up. The Project Excellence Manager’s primary focus will be leading process improvement and project management improvement efforts within the installation and commissioning field processes and serves as a facilitator, internal consultant, mentor, and champion of a sustainable continuous improvement culture.

Job Details:

  • Analyzes trends and recommends Project Success enhancements to address systemic issues, lessons learned and industry developments
  • Serves as a strategic business partner and voice for Project Success on cross-functional organizational improvement efforts
  • Contributes to the standardization of the project management best practices and seek opportunities to harmonize processes and systems across projects and other cross-functional groups
  • Identifies opportunities to integrate tools and resources that enable consistency and quality in building organizational capability to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Leads the design, development and implementation of initiatives focused on the improvement and advancement of project execution across the organization
  • Leads without authority, managing cross-functional resources to agreed commitments and holding teams accountable to critical path execution of initiatives
  • Implements development and/or deployment of established systems and procedures and utilizes best practices to introduce further improvements to existing and new business processes.
  • Facilitates and collects lessons learned in projects for continuous improvement of project management standards
  • Ensure communication and change management activities during deployment of new standards, processes or protocols to Project Success teams and other affected business units
  • Develops and implements strategies to maximize employee adoption of new or existing processes, activities, templates, and other process improvement initiatives Develops content and presentations for specific user groups to support delivery of training and onboarding
  • Coaches and mentors Project Success team members and other stakeholders on Powin’s project management processes, procedures, and templates
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years practical experience with in-field installation and/or commissioning of energy storage systems and/or renewable energy systems (or equivalent) is required
  • Project Management certification or proven knowledge of Project Management process, including the ability to set goals, create timelines, allocate resources, and monitor and report progress, detail oriented and highly organized, ability to multi-task several projects at once
  • A good understanding of the energy storage industry, its processes, and relevant regulations and safety requirements is preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
  • Experience with Procore or other construction management systems is preferred
  • Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with various stakeholders, including management, engineers, and field employees and third-party vendors. The ability to clearly convey ideas, present findings, and gain buy-in from both technical and non-technical audiences is crucial.
  • Ability to align communications with the end user in focus; ability to deliver structured and simple messages through visual presentations
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive mindset to identify and implement changes that enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to travel 25-35% of the time
  • This position is flexible with onsite (PDX/Tualatin), hybrid and/or remote
