POSITION - CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

LOCATION - REMOTE

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Estimator responsible for providing cost estimates for a variety of construction projects in North America.

Role description:

As part of our Cost Management team, you’ll be involved in a wide range of construction projects from global, high profile clients to smaller projects, ensuring they’re delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.
We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving.
You will manage the delivery of cost management in the construction sector of small/medium projects or significant components of larger cost management assignments, ensuring standards of delivery meet defined objectives. You will also be responsible for delivering the defined scope of work in line with various controls, and will have significant technical knowledge and experience in their field.

You will possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on technically complex projects/programme of works typically ranging between $1M and $5M+. You will be developing and maintaining project cost plans and cost estimates to support the governance processes and procedures; managing project budgets and reporting against benchmarks where appropriate; concluding monthly cost reporting, reporting on monthly change in the period; leading on tendering and evaluation process, understanding the different types of procurement strategies to be undertaken; providing the management of the administration of contracts of varying values and complexity, driving compliance and contractual performance with knowledge of NEC suite of contracts

Role accountabilities:

  • Grow independent relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Manage the development of cost estimates for projects from concept through execution based on accurate quantity take-offs and deep knowledge of material/labour and equipment costs
  • Respond to, solves and makes decisions on business requests that have broader department impact and/or moderate risk. Presents alternative solutions to business issues by leveraging the broader organization.
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Assist the project management staff with the management of project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Assist with analysis, and report on the project key performance metrics. Engage in value engineering discussions to identify the best solution available for the client
  • Provide life cycle cost and sustainability advice
  • Be a true professional who collaborates and develops partnerships with external and internal Teams

Qualifications & Experience:

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Knowledgeable of construction processes, the cost and commercial management all phases of the project from concept to hand-over/warranty
  • Design and Tender preparation with deep market knowledge for resources/materials/equipment, etc.
  • Experienced accessing and working with risk management
  • Review of goals and objective throughout the project process
  • Be a collaborative partner with internal Teams

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent construction project experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a similar working environment, including delivery small/medium/large projects across the entire project life cycle
  • Experience working with internal/external Teams either as part of the Team
  • Relevant professional certification
  • Strong verbal and writing skills

The salary range for this position is $94,760 to $142,140 year.
