Job Description
The Water Wastewater Engineer will provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects including wastewater collection system infrastructure evaluation, rehabilitation, and design, and water distribution system design.
Locations: Houston, TX
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Texas-Licensed P.E. certification
- Minimum three years of experience working with City of Houston projects.
- This position will require an estimated local travel/field work for site inspections and meetings with client site representative and construction contractors.
- Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Excellent organization and design planning skills.
- Self-starter, detailed oriented, and finisher.
- Proficient using typical business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, etc.).
- AutoCAD/GIS operating knowledge is preferred.
Expected Outcomes:
- Technical report writing
- Pipeline routing alternatives design and analysis
- Field investigations/site reconnaissance
- Project permitting with City of Houston and coordination with regulatory agencies
- Data collection
- Utility coordination
- Erosion/sedimentation control and tree protection plans
- Engineering cost estimating and analysis
- Wastewater flow development and hydraulics analysis
- Engineering design calculations
- Engineering specification review and preparation of contract documents for construction
- Bid and award services
- Construction phase engineering services.
- Prepare project scopes of work and budget estimates
- Coordinate with team surveying, geotechnical, structural engineering, and electrical engineering subconsultants
- Coordinate with internal QA/QC reviewers, financial analysts, and administrative assistants.
