Description:
The Project Engineer supports the site’s operational capability by prioritizing, scoping, and executing capital projects. The Project Engineer will work with site technical resources and continuous improvement groups to recommend replacements, upgrades, and expansions to help solve reliability, performance, and EH&S opportunities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience as Plant Engineer, Project Engineer, or related duties in chemical or similar industries.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Technical aptitude.
- Experience supervising contractors and maintenance personnel.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite
- Proficient in project scheduling software
Responsibilities:
- Translates Business Objectives into concrete Project Plans and Objectives
- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams to conduct Front-end Loading
- Preparation of Project Execution Strategies and Plans and monitoring during execution
- Ensures that adequate Project organization is set-up and staffed.
- Reports project progress and performance to key stakeholders during Steering Team meetings
- Preparation of cost estimates
- Execute Project Cost and Scope Control
- Initiates and Leads Project Reviews and Project Team meetings.
- Develops Contracting and Procurement Strategy for the projects and ensures that selection in close cooperation with the Indirect Procurement organization
- Develop and lead pre-startup and commissioning activities
- Accountable for developing work processes and tools and identifying best practices w.r.t. project management.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and national and international legislation.
- Lead and supervise engineering and construction contractors involved in design and engineering & construction activities
- Comply with Management of Change process for all projects
Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Lead projects with a safety mindset, following all site and company safety policies
- Lead and participate in safety incident investigations to provide solutions to prevent recurrence
- Adhere to OSHA PSM guidelines during design and execution phases
