What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for providing coordination and support to various aspects of operations to ensure the efficient and profitable execution of the installation of utility and telecommunications infrastructure. This project is in the Clearlake, California area. 

 

What You'll Do Here: 

  • Develop Contract Administration (CA) Plan; maintain CA system, manage CPM schedule, evaluate issues, price changes.

  • Develop an understanding of budgets, manages cost controls & contract adjustments, conveys financial plan to team, assists in creation of financial reports and forecasts.

  • Execute planning process with team, schedules and communicates team assignments, adjusts plan as needed.

  • Resource load schedule, schedule crews and communicate priorities, monitor and modify schedule.

  • Perform site previews and inspections as required in preparation for locate requests. 

  • Assist in inventory management / control and related systems development. 

  • Coordinate and procure specialty materials/tooling. 

  • Review and summarize weekly equipment utilization reports and correct misallocations. 

  • Track and maintain area specific worker Training Matrix. 

  • Assist in the acquisition of required safety/experience documentation from subcontractors. 

  • Time entry, travel booking, and weekly scheduling of field personnel.

  • Help to implement project-level safety program, reinforces safety expectations, designs corrective measures.

  • Track and ensure that quality and frequency of safety inspection and reporting complies Aecon Health & Safety and Environmental Manual. Recognition of any non-compliance.

  • Review, track and summarize Quality Assurance non-conformances and ensures appropriate training and follow-up. 

  • Plan comprehensive equipment operations. Ensures the safe and organized status of materials and equipment. Ensure certification is up to date.

  • Facilitate deliveries of rush materials/tooling to crews as required. 

  • Receive, validate, off-load, handle, and process related paperwork from vendors. 

  • Query, analyze, and report on data from various systems to assist in operational efficiency. 

  • Generate reports, as necessary, as required by major customers. 

  • Travel as required to meet project demands.

 

What You Bring to the Team: 

  • Post-secondary education - Civil/Construction Technologist/Technician/ Construction Management. 

  • 2-4 years of project coordination experience within the construction industry.

  • Underground utilities experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Ability to relocate to project site preferred. 

  • Strong computer skills - MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills - oral and written. 

  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines. 

  • Ability to work with others as a team. 

  • Valid driver's license.

The expected pay range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 USD.
