Primoris Heavy Civil is currently searching for an experienced Project Engineer in Richmond, Tx. Looking for someone who has the knowledge and experience in Heavy Civil work (roads, bridges, and Highway construction) This position will assist in planning and overseeing of multiple civil projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide technical engineering expertise to a specific project and provide assistance in the preparation of estimates; measure and calculate quantities of work put in place for payment and provide input for the cost accounting system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOU NTABILITIES:
• Assist with technical information for project & construction management to ensure construction work
complies with all construction standards, codes and specifications
• Assist with Project Submittals, Submittal Acquisition form Subcontractors, and Review Incoming
Submittals Prior to transmitting to the Owner/Engineer
• Coordinating with Owner and Engineer Representatives during the course of the project
• Allocate cost codes to the appropriate field operations and track/maintain quantities to verify
subcontractor /supplier billing
• Track and compile of materials, equipment, and labor for any/all change orders and field orders
• Provide technical assistance with project scheduling; prepare 3-week look ahead schedule and updates for
monthly project schedule submissions
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports during the course of the project
• Assist project management in all job aspects
• Coordinate with Survey as required to facilitate the construction
• Work with Safety Department to analyze potential job hazards and prepare plan to eliminate risks
• Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
• Four (4) year engineering or construction management degree, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of construction engineering and/or surveying experience.
• Working knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment, assigned discipline design, and overall engineering standards is necessary.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
• Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
• Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
• Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
• Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site:
o Uneven ground level
o Obstructed pathways
o Work performed at low and/or high elevations
o Work performed in confined areas
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site:
o Predominately outdoor climate
o May be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather
o Excessive humidity, rain, etc.
o Various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
