We are looking for passionate, talented people who want to join us in our mission to inspire and educate men to be happier and healthier!

About the Role:

  • Dr. Squatch's new facility – 'Bricc City' – in Brea, CA, is expanding manufacturing operations, and to support these efforts, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join Team Squatch that wants to continue to improve and innovate the "art" of manufacturing and packaging cold process soap, and other men's personal care products.
  • The Project Engineer will lead, develop, and manage capital projects (equipment and construction) and continuous improvement projects. This role will lead and assist in the development of projects, determine the best solution and a plan to execute upon it. Specifically, this role will partner with Production stakeholders to ensure Engineering projects are properly scoped and there is a smoothhandover during the project turnover phase.
  • The Project Engineer role will sit within our Engineering department, and will partner very closely with our Production, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Quality teams to ensure the quality of our products and processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • The Project Engineer will collaborate in a very hands-on manner with our Production team, spending time on the manufacturing floor and working closely with operators as the technical expert for the formulas and processes. The ideal candidate will balance the technical and scientific requirements of the role with creative problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
  • This role will report to the Engineering Project Manager.
  • This is a full-time role with company benefits based in Brea, CA.
  • The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $90,000 to $100,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage Dr. Squatch Manufacturing Engineering projects to ensure a seamless execution of capital equipment and continuous improvement projects, while ensuring that all plans, communications and processes between the Engineering and Production stakeholders areclearly defined and properly delivered in alignment with Dr. Squatch's strategic objectives
  • Work with the Engineering Team on equipment design / selection, cost benefit analysis (BVOA), and budget approval process
  • Manage all aspects of project execution including scope, budget, cost estimates, schedule, site construction, safety, equipment installation, training, and turnover
  • Team up with functional leads in the areas of Safety, Maintenance, Production, Packaging, and Quality to clearly define project scope, deliverables, safety, and cost objectives, in order to appropriately hold Vendors accountable
  • Work with Maintenance, Production, and Packaging to lead the start-up, shake-down and initial operations of new installations, train operators, and troubleshoot issues
  • Serve as a technical liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure that all tradeoffs are assessed in alignment with Dr. Squatch's strategic objectives
  • Facilitate Project Meetings as required - err on the side of over communication; prepare reports: expenditure requests, monthly reports, etc

  • A minimum of 3 years of Project Engineering and project management experience involving facility design (high tech facility design preferred).

  • Experience in the personal care or related industry is highly desired.
