Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Land Development and/or public works projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of various Land Development endeavors, which include on and offsite development. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Project Engineer The Project Engineer will work closely with project managers to lead the design and development efforts of onsite and offsite residential, commercial, and industrial sites, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
1. Design Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversee the development of preliminary and detailed design plans, grading, drainage, roadways, utilities, and stormwater management systems.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs and project activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards related to Land Development and environmental protection.
3. Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, local authorities, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are understood, address client concerns, and obtain necessary approvals.
4. Team Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including junior engineers, CAD designers, surveyors, and contractors, to ensure effective project execution.
5. Budget and Schedule: Monitor project budgets, schedules, and timelines, making necessary adjustments to ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and on time.
6. Construction Oversight: Provide support during the construction phase by conducting site visits, reviewing construction progress, addressing site-related challenges, and ensuring design intent is met.
7. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to verify that designs and constructed elements meet engineering standards and project specifications.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design calculations, progress reports, change orders, and project correspondence.
9. Continuing Education: Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in Land Development engineering to enhance personal and team capabilities.
Requirements:1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
2. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required, professional engineering (PE) license preferred
3. 3-5 years of relevant experience in Land Development and/or public works / transportation/ drainage/ utilities engineering, including site design, grading, drainage, dry and wet utility layouts, and design oversight.
4. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
5. Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, codes, regulations, and standards related to Land Development.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage project teams and interact with clients.
7. Proven ability to manage and lead design efforts on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
8. Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to address complex engineering challenges.
9. Familiarity with project management tools and software is advantageous.
