Project Engineer - ASRC Energy Services, LLC JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible for facilitating ongoing construction, ensuring the timely and complete deliverables from applicable design engineering consultants and entities assigned to the Project. This position will work in Valdez and in the field along the Alyeska Pipeline System on a rotational schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

      Receive, maintain, and disseminate technical information from plans, detail sheets and specifications required for execution of project.

      Review technical information for completeness of design and constructability.

      Liaise with engineering consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders for clarifications, changes, and engineering problem resolutions.

      Report accurate quantities for labor cost reports.

      Prepare drafts of Field Change Notices and Non-Conformance Notices.

      Serve as contact for resolution of Requests for Information submitted by contractor(s) and assist in the preparation and release of Field Change Orders.

      Interface for the processing of Contractor submittals for approval by the engineering consultants and entities.

      Execute field office engineering tasks, including responding to technical queries and disseminating technical reference information.

      Support technical documentation distribution and audits.

      Measure and verify field installation progress and assist in the processing of contractor progress billings.

      Maintain awareness and accountability for the Quality Assurance Program.

      Monitor material ledgers to determine if quantities remaining in the estimate are sufficient to complete project.

      Coordinate inspections.

      Assist the Project Manager in enforcing quality control, expediting subcontractors.

      Identify contract document conflicts and recommend solutions.

      Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.

      Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.

      Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

      Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

      Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.

      2-3 years of field experience in engineering 

      Must be knowledgeable in applicable codes, standards, quality principles, procedures and practices.

      Must be able to work at remote locations for 10-12 hours/day on a rotating shift schedule.

      Must be able to travel by vehicle or plane to project locations. 

      Must have good verbal communications and technical writing skills and be able to communicate in a clear and concise fashion to personnel at all levels of the organization. 

      Must be knowledgeable and comfortable with computers and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Windows Operating systems.

      Must be an effective team player with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change. 

      Valid state drivers license is required.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION 

      Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      Experience with remote camp project work (rotational schedule, 7 days per week, 10-12+ hours per day) is an asset.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                              

      Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

      Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing. 

      Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.                    

      Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam 

      Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. 

      Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
