Project Cost Estimator (Nuclear Power)

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a Tier 1 vendor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and we are recruitingfor an experienced, Project Estimator, for a12-24 month contract assignment based out of the Chattanooga office and supporting multiple nuclear plant projects.
This role will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Consultants, Contractors, Project Controls Specialists, and Operations Personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive estimates for Capital Projects affiliated with all three Nuclear Power plants.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
75% remote / 25% project sites
Responsibilities:

• Working closely with Project Manager to develop a project estimate for each stage of Project development
• Working with Engineers and Work Planners in evaluating design drawings and commodity takeoffs to provide a unit-rate based estimate for work implementation
• Entering all cost elements of a Project into an estimating database and creating a detailed estimate report along with an Executive Estimate Summary
• Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
• Creating labor estimates for any project
• Inputting bids from vendors and contractors
• Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
• Resolve pending/outstanding request, reconciling encumbrances and pending tasks with IBS as required
• Analyze cost data to find methods of reducing costs and/or increasing efficiency and coordinate a corrective action plan
• Assist in developing workload projections

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field
• 5+ years of experience working with conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates
• Estimator experience in a construction, engineering, or nuclear generating plant environment desirable
• Craft experience is desired but not required
• Experience analyzing designs and planning data to develop labor cost and material estimates for large projects
• Experience with standard estimating tools (WinEst, iTWO, Timberline, custom spreadsheets, etc.)
• Experience using standard "commodity unit rates" for work estimates
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
• Certification by AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) as a Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Cost Consultant (CCC) is desired
• Must be able and willing to travel to plant locations as required
