I. Job Summary
This position is responsible for all Project Controls functions including schedule management, risk management, earned value management, cost & change management, document management and contract procurement management on mid-size capital projects. This position serves as the Project Controls management representative to ensure the Project Team's success. This position requires a detailed understanding of project management principles and practices.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Leads overall project management systems implementation in the tracking, forecasting, analysis, and reporting of project costs, schedules, and key performance indicators on assigned projects.
- Leads and provides analysis on costs, commitments, accruals, trends and changes, and recommends corrective action to the Project Team where necessary.
- Leads administration of the Project Controls Process to provide guidance, direction, recommendations, and specialized assistance to project managers for the resolution of complex project control problems and contractual courses of action.
- Manage the implementation of Document Management procedures and documentation for the Project Team.
- Manages the proactive identification, evaluation, and monitoring of risk and opportunity in the project management environment, including risk mitigation planning and execution of risk management processes for the project.
- Manages the Contracts and Procurement systems including Client Contract Administration invoicing, issue of purchase order and subcontract agreements, subcontractor payment distributions, and project accounts payables.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is not responsible for directly supervising others but does influence employees and all levels of management in the day-to-day interaction.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: Five (5) years of relevant work experience in Project Controls, Document Controls, Project Procurement (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- Prism G2 package
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, power point, outlook)
- Strong PC skills to include Microsoft software; automated accounting and cost management systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
