Description Koch Specialty Plant Services has an opening for a Project Controls Specialist for a client in Texas. Primary duties will consist of creating tracking tools, maintaining, and tracking the cost of the outage and ensuring budget is maintained in accordance with best practices of PBM in mind. The position will require a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual knowledgeable of tracking cost, working with contractors, and verifying actuals vs planned. This role is not eligible for Sponsorship. Relocation assistance will not be provided. What You Will Do In Your Role Interface with contractors to verify quotes, PO's, manpower and submittals Develop, monitor, and maintain cost tracking tools for outage Present/Lead cost update meetings with Outage team Identify trends and work with leadership to provide opportunities for improvement Develop reporting formats per customer request Graphic representation of data such as progress curves, earned value, etc. Assess manpower requirements and determine estimated durations for the work activities Actively participate in a strong safety culture. Work Environment The job will primarily be on or around construction/turnaround sites and operational units and include possible hazardous environments. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, irritants, and smoke may occur. Special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to control some hazardous environments. Additional forms of PPE may be required depending on the project. Safety requirements must be verified and meet standards set forth by client permits, policies and procedures, and be performed in compliance with all federal, state and local laws or ordinances before work activities can begin.The Experience You Will BringRequirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing 5+ year experience Project Controls with Microsoft Excel or similar cost tracking software One or more years of experience with industrial turnaround 3+ years or more of related industrial plant experience 1 or more years of practical experience working with business software such as MS Office, SAP, etc. Candidates must be able to meet all company and customer qualifications to access job site including training requirements Travel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times What Will Put You Ahead 5+ years or more of related industrial plant experience 5+ years of turnaround Cost Tracking experience 2+ years as Lead Project Control Specialist Experience working in pulp and paper industry Our goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
