AB Consulting GSSI is a supplier of experienced engineering and technical talent to manufacturing companies. A major industrial client is modernizing its existing facility in Danville, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Administrative Assistant will work in a team environment under the direction of the client’s construction manager. The candidate will assist the construction manager with document control, recordkeeping, communications, and overall project coordination. Good spoken and written English are required, Spanish fluency will be a major plus. The applicant should be efficient, organized, motivated, and able to gain the cooperation of others while working in a construction environment.
LOCATION: Danville, VA
CONTRACT TYPE: 1099 Independent Contractor
START DATE: April, 2024
DURATION: 1 year with good possibility of extension
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently manage project documentation and communications.
- Perform efficient and accurate recordkeeping: process invoices, track shipments, inventory materials, log change requests, update project budget reports, etc.
- Notify contractors and team members of incoming shipments, manage offloading, inspection, and receipt, and manage shipping documentation.
- Help with general coordination of work on site, follow-up with others to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
- Issue purchase requisitions, follow-up to make sure that purchase orders are issued quickly, and order materials for the team.
- Assist to manage and organize the project office.
- Update project reports and schedules.
- Arrange travel, accommodations, and transport for project visitors.
- Provide back-up support for other team members when they are gone.
- Occasional Saturday work may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-year associate’s degree or 4-year university degree.
- Experienced user of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other office software. Ability to write formulas in Excel, sort, filter, and format, etc.
- SAP, SharePoint, and MS Project experience are preferred.
- Good spoken and written English, Spanish is also preferred, good telephone skills.
- Basic math skills are important. Must be able to perform calculations and check numbers for accuracy and correctness.
- The applicant should be highly organized and professional, able to work within a team, with a good attitude and the ability to gain the cooperation of others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $176.00 - $224.00 per day
