Duties include assisting with the planning and operations of Attack Theatre's performances, education classes and workshops, and the Special Events fundraiser, Rock, Paper, Sizzle .
Intern Position Description:
Founded 28 years ago, Attack Theatre currently operates with a staff of two artistic directors, five administrative employees, and a company of dancers, musicians, and designers working interdependently. The company's studio/rehearsal space at 212 45th Street in Lawrenceville is designed to facilitate easy collaboration between the artistic and administrative staff. Due to the small and collaborative nature of Attack Theatre's staff, this position offers a valuable learning experience that more compartmentalized internships do not offer. This internship will offer insight and experience in the workings of a growing nonprofit arts organization based locally and working globally.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
Applicant must be willing to take initiative and work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment. Internship responsibilities may include:
- Assist with the planning and implementation of season shows and our special March Fundraising event Rock, Paper, Sizzle .
-Participate in the planning and development of educational programming
- Assist with marketing and registration for performances and events
-Support the evolving creative process by analyzing previous programmatic data and surveys.
Intern Will Gain:
- Diverse skills and hands-on experience in nonprofit management for a mid-sized performing arts organization.
-Ability to add Programming and event planning experience to a resume.
- Experience coordinating and communicating with artists and technicians
- Opportunities to give creative insights and feedback regarding potential projects/performances, marketing, and sponsorship strategies.
- Opportunities to interact with professionals in the nonprofit sector, specifically the arts.
In addition to gaining the skills associated with these responsibilities, all interns are encouraged to share any specific skills or knowledge they would like to gain during their time with Attack Theatre. Staff will work with interns to develop or assist on projects that align with these interests.
Requirements
Intern Will Have:
- Interest in non-profit performing arts
- A collaborative work practice that welcomes a human-centered design approach to ideation and implementation
- Organized and detail-oriented work
- Desire to transform ideas into action
- Curiosity and interest in learning the field
- Semi-regular availability (schedule will be mutually agreed upon)
And most importantly, interns must be flexible, self-motivated, organized, able to work independently, and interested in and passionate about learning every day.
This is a hybrid position with remote and in-person responsibilities. The staff and artists work primarily at Attack Theatre's new headquarters in the heart of Lawrenceville. To safeguard the health of our audiences, students, and the community at large from infectious diseases that may be reduced by vaccinations, Attack Theatre requires all staff and volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
