Job description

Summary:
Under the general supervision of the CPPI Director the Program Supervisor performs a variety of activities to plan organize and manage administrative functions to meet the educational needs at Newport Hospital. Promotes and supports a learning environment across the organization but primarily for the division of nursing.

 

Responsibilities:

KEY FUNCTIONS

 

NetLearning Site Administrator: Performs all functions of lead administrator role in the NetLearning LMS (Learning Management Platform). Support Hospital-Wide education to Create computer-based learnings (CBLs/Complex Curriculums) uploads content assigns to appropriate Newport Hospital Departments creates/schedules classes adds/deletes/modifies courses adds /modifies users (non-employee) records and reports on course assignments and completions employee transcripts provide support to users as needed. Creates Enrollment and Completion reports for Supervisors/DOH action plans reports. Runs class rosters for appropriate instructors and managers. Responds to LMS Admin incident tickets � site specific Serves as member of LMS Admin group and Committee. Assumes responsibility for more complex yearly LMS plans timetables for annual educational assignments.

Nursing Orientation: Assists in on-boarding new hires by communicating with Human Resources (HR) to obtain a list of new hires. Directs all New Employee Orientation (NEO) including introduction to LMS net learning system email and general orientation requirements helps to coordinate New Hire NA/RN Orientation assisting with collection and recording new hire orientation checklists and onboarding materials.

Non-Employee Accounts: Manages/Creates all Non-employee accounts for Newport Nursing Students Hicuity tele-ICU Davita and works with Security Manager to update and manage accounts. Enters system access requests for students faculty and staff as needed for various application platform requests.

Student Coordination: Coordinates nursing (Undergraduate/Graduate) and non-nursing (EMT/Paramedic) student onboarding at Newport Hospital onboards new instructors. Site Administrator for CCP RI-MA student placement registry. Facilitates student nurse orientation and materials plan and facilitate annual faculty orientations and annual agenda/meetings. Serve as liason with clinical coordinators from Schools of Nursing colleges and universities. Facilitates Affiliation Agreements between Lifespan/Newport Hospital and schools universities and organizations as requested. Serves as liaison between the Manager of CPPI and internal/external constituencies. Communicates with clinical coordinators from colleges and universities using the electronic student placement system as well as other electronic and telephone communication as needed to assist the Manager of CPPI to coordinate student clinical placements at Newport Hospital.

Manages all aspects of the Health Administration Undergraduate/Graduate Intern program (i.e. building relationships with schools recruiting/interviewing students supervising students and submitting evaluations/review to schools. Collaborates with Director of Patient Care/CPPI Director with training and onboarding of volunteers for CPPI. Oversees administrative support and to meet the needs of department. Coordinates recruitment and training of volunteers and execution of CPPI-related tasks necessary to care out day-to-day operations. Works with EOHS to ensure quality assurance safety environmental and infection control in accordance with established system policies and objectives.

American Heart Association Site Administrator: Oversees Life Saving Skills Certifications site instructor communication process certifications tracking in accordance with the Lifespan Community Training Center. Includes managing the online learning platform ordering products assigning tracking and completing ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications. Troubleshooting and support as needed. Manages schedules for Instructors and assists with staffing.

CPPI Department Sponsored Programs/Educational Offerings: Conference room scheduling for CPPI department programs oversee AV equipment for CPPI and offer support as needed ordering of office supplies and facilitates copier services. Plans and conducts meetings as needed. Manages all aspects of special awards projects/programs and makes recommendations to manager for improvement (i.e. Daisy Sunflower Nurse Excellence Award WK Turner Award etc.). Collaborates on new CEU individual credit continuations for current CEU courses (i.e. Basic Dysrhythmia Charge RN Class Preceptor Workshop).

 

Graphic Design Marketing and Standard Operating Procedures: Creates professional flyers job aides poster presentations banners internal boards for all CPPI-related classes/programs and maintains graphic standards with marketing. Develops and maintains of all CPPI Standard Operation procedures and checklists related to programs and internal CPPI requirements.

 

CPPI Nursing Website/Stroke Website: Manages all aspects of CPPI Nursing website and stroke website. Collaborates with Stroke Manager CPPI Team and Web team regarding strategy and content updates on web pages.

Finance: Manages/Creates all check requests for CPPI departmental needs and follows up with Accounts payable as needed related to budgeted resources. Orders all WB Mason supplies Xerox Supplies and office-related requests. Assists Director with gathering information needed for yearly budgets.

Other: Oversee Newport Hospital School of Nursing Records: Respond to all transcript requests for student transcripts by phone emails or mailing official transcripts.

Prepares and maintains a variety of electronic databases to ensure daily CPPI tasks are met. Reviews/researches data necessary for annual reports and abstract submissions.

Represents the CPPI team by serving on committee(s) as needed; EEC EOC Champions Patient Safety Ambassadors�etc. Covers for CPPI leadership when needed.

 

Performs other related tasks as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:

 

Minimum high school diploma. Bachelor�s degree in health care administration or related field preferred.

 

Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of personnel both within and outside of the hospital.

 

Current BLS Instructor Certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

 

QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:

 

Excellent organization communication writing and customer service skills. Communicates clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.

 

Ability to exercise independent judgment and work effectively with all levels of hospital management employees students and community members.

 

Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Word Excel and PowerPoint software.

 

Ability to facilitate virtual meetings through knowledge of platforms such as SKYPE and ZOOM.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Work is performed in a typical office setting requiring long periods of sitting as well as walking and standing.

 

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

 

Performs independently within the department�s policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to the CPPI Manager when clarification of departmental policies and procedures are required.
