This is a position Monday – Friday scheduled 30+ hours between the operating hours of 6:30am to 6:00pm. The pay range is $12 -13 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This position is onsite at our center: 10279 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32817.
The Program Support Staffplays a meaningful role in turning children's goals into reality and helping Abram’s Angels Academy become the best it can be. You'll have the opportunity to utilize your natural interpersonal, administration and sales skills while bringing an enthusiastic energy to the staff and facility, while ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. The goal of this position is to collaborate with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately while we send our students off to kindergarten feeling academically prepared, socially confident, and personally happy. While as an Assistant Teacher, you will work with the lead teacher to coordinate engaging developmental activities, implement curriculum that enhances pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills, and prepare the children for school. The Assistant Teacher serves as a model and mentor working toward the success of our students!
What You’ll Do:
Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with the center’s vision and state and local requirements.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
A strong understanding of child development and appropriate engagement strategies.
Prepare weekly reports for the Center Director outlining the details of your contacts, tours, and resulting enrollments.
Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters, and parent handbooks.
Strong administrative skills to include collecting information, assess applications, handle application documentation, enter data into files budget management, personnel record keeping, make recommendations, and provide customer service to families as needed.
Responsible for the supervision of children and management of a well-ordered classroom environment that ensures safety, cleanliness, and wellbeing.
Assist in providing an appropriate educational atmosphere that creates a positive learning experience, encourages student participation, and promotes the development of positive self-esteem and confidence.
Review teachers’ curriculum weekly lesson plans, classroom activities to ensure delivery of developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
Maintain positive relationship with regulatory agencies, community, and business partners through implementation of community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 1-2 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting
Strong interpersonal and sales skills
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace
Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations
Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and appropriate engagement strategies.
Must clear a full DCF Level II background check
CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma and/or Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
Willingness to completed FL DCF 45 hours credential within 90 days of employment required
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 35 pounds
Sit, stand, and walk for long period of time
