What we want
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at Texas A&M University is seeking a Program Specialist III for an in person position located in College Station, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background supportingdigital learning environment/learning management system (LMS) operationsand is someone who would be able to work independently and under general supervision to perform moderately complex administrative and supervisory work related to operations for the LMS and associated tools such as logistics and triaging service requests. A successful candidate will have excellentcommunication skills,be able tocoordinatewith other teams and departments to maintain and improve LMS operations, and have experiencedocumentingprocesses, procedures, and policies. Additionally, the candidate will be able assess initiatives to identify areas of improvement and createreportsfor relevant stakeholders. The Program Specialist III is a key member of CTE's digital learning team and will participate in a highly-collaborative, dynamic workplace. They should champion faculty and student success in the digital learning environment, promote learning technology best practices, and have an awareness of technology use at peer institutions.

Salary Range: $55,000-$57,000; Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.

Position Location: This is not a remote position. This position is located onsite at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three years of related experience in learning technologies or program coordination
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and services.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of three years of related experience supporting Canvas learning management system operations and associated learning technologies and one year of supervisory experience.
- Foundational understanding of effective practices in leveraging learning management systems and associated learning technologies across various teaching modalities.
- Knowledge of triaging support tickets and collaboration in a variety of settings including hybrid.
- Appropriate communication skills tailored to various stakeholder groups.
Essential Duties/Tasks
- Program Implementation & Management - Assist with the management of specialized programs to include planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs or services to facilitate program goals. Develops and maintains operations/program calendar(s) across all stakeholder groups. Schedules and facilitates logistics (including communication, calendar events, and agendas) for, participates in, and co-leads operational meetings. Monitors incoming service requests and triages/escalates to appropriate digital learning staff/team. Oversees manually created and elevated access accounts and facilitates new request processes. Assists with the review and renewal of contracts, agreements, and memberships. Supports enterprise and sub-account tools including new tools and feature requests, upgrades/updates, and removal/deprecation. Supports course provisioning process.
- Evaluation, Assessment, and Reporting - Assesses programs. Oversees operational milestones completed by the digital learning team and partners. Conducts evaluations of digital learning environment operations. Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of digital learning environment initiatives and attends meetings and conferences to share progress. Recommends guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations related to digital learning environment operations. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations, and ensures they are followed. Prepares and maintains budgets, special reports, and other documentation including policies and procedures related to the digital learning environment operations.
- Communication, Collaboration, & Outreach - Develops and maintains communication strategy related to digital learning operations across all stakeholder groups. Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials including maintaining communication templates. Shares messaging with appropriate stakeholder group and reviews for accuracy. Archives campus-wide messages on website. Confers with staff on program issues/problems and recommends solutions.
- Leadership & Service - Manages student technicians (as needed) and oversees the work of assigned staff related to digital learning environment operations. Champions faculty and student success in the digital learning environment. Upholds learning technology best practices and advocates for the end-user to optimize the digital learning environment. Serves and participates in university task forces. Contributes to the work of university committees and projects.Participates in programs (workshops, conferences, etc.) and research to enhance job skills and to support a personal professional development plan in effort to sustain and evolve proficiency in digital learning environment effective practices and explores the use of the learning management system and other tools at peer institutions.
