Job Description
Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Since 1969, FGC's comprehensive programming has educated and guided individuals toward their full potential as productive members within their own families and our society.
FGC's adult and adolescent programming provides a flexible continuum of care to best address the individual needs of each participant. Through integrated and comprehensive services, including continuous assessment, participants are able to access levels of care and specific services to create an individualized treatment approach. Further, FGC provides special and high-risk populations priority access to specialized programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assessment of individuals presenting for substance abuse treatment, including completing H&Ps and reviewing lab results
  • Confirmation of all admissions and discharges
  • Provide admission orders (written or by telephone)
  • Confirmation of patient diagnosis and treatment plan as well as ASAM continued stay reviews, annual justification reviews, and treatment plan updates
  • Management of pharmacological treatment for Medicaid Assisted Treatment patients, including providing physician orders (written or by telephone) for methadone maintenance dosing and adjustments based on documented patient need
  • Provide clinical consultation for patients to assist in educating them on their diagnosis and course of treatment
  • Consult with multidisciplinary team as needed during course of patient treatment
  • Assist with referrals for additional medical care for patients, when indicated
  • Consult with other health care providers as needed regarding patient medical treatment regimens
  • Review and approve weekly medication accounting record, medication bottle control information record, and greenbar/pharmacy log
  • Review and approve state and federal medication exception request documentation
  • Review and approve medical reviews and attendance code changes
  • Assist with the hiring, training, and state required supervision of a Nurse Practitioner.

Hours: Open (4-6 hours per week)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: Up to $110.00 per hour; based on experience
Experience and Skills
Education & Experience: MD, DO. Prior work experience with substance use disorders preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Active Ohio Licensed Physician and Surgeon Controlled Substance, IIN, II, III, I, IV, V and IIIN by State regulatory board. Active DEA license. Valid proof of current Professional Liability Insurance.
