This position is located in Refugee, Asylum and International Operations, Asylum Division, New York Asylum Office, Bethpage, NY.
As a Program Manager, you will oversee and manage an operational unit, implementing internal controls, and planning work based on operational needs and short-term and long-term goals.Qualifications: The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/15/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/15/2024.
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
- Directing activities of subordinate managers and supervisors on a variety of duties which may include resource management, budget formulation, workload analysis, performance monitoring, records, and mail management;
- Performing administrative and human resource functions relative to the staff supervised and established guideline and performance expectations for staff members;
- Conducting periodic and comprehensive evaluations of ongoing functions to ensure that the organization meets stated goals;
- Participating in the formulation of policy, procedures, and operations and recommends changes that may affect the entire Asylum program.
