Program Manager (EPIC Registration) Mount Sinai Hospital-Full-Time
The Program Manager I is responsible for providing administrative, operational and programmatic oversight. The Program Manager I will have a thorough knowledge of institutional and program policies and procedures and may be instrumental in developing program policies. A program is ongoing and while it may have a business cycle, will continue. The program provides a specific service or carries out specific activities as a separate entity or as a component program within a department, but is not a department itself.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and manages the activities of subordinates and consultants, providing leadership, direction, and guidance to ensure the achievement of performance goals. Manages Epic registration front-end workqueues to guarantee accurate and timely registration and billing processes.
- Develops and independently implements new or revised program goals, strategies, and objectives to sustain and grow programs and services. Monitors workqueues regularly to identify and resolve registration and billing errors, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Develops and schedules a program work plan in accordance with specifications, objectives, and funding limitations. Collaborates with registration and patient access staff to provide guidance and support in resolving complex registration issues.
- Maintains liaison with staff in other departments to coordinate program activities and training, ensuring cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized effectively. Serves as a subject matter expert on Epic registration functionality, providing training and support to staff as needed.
- Administers program procedures and systems, ensuring dissemination of information to staff regarding program and organizational policies and procedures. Acts as a resource for hospital staff regarding registration and billing requirements, staying informed of changes and updates in regulations.
- Confers with and advises staff and others to provide technical advice, problem-solving assistance, and program goal interpretations. Identifies trends and patterns in registration and billing errors, implementing strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Takes an active role in developing program budgets and grants, monitoring, verifying, and overseeing the reconciliation of budget expenditures. Analyzes high dollar accounts and works with the billing team to ensure timely resolution and reimbursement.
- Hires program staff and is responsible for performance appraisal evaluations, promotions, transfers, and other personnel transactions. Participates in meetings and committees related to registration, billing, and revenue cycle management as necessary.
- Collaborates with program leadership to prepare proposals for corporate and foundation funding and/or funding continuation. Maintains documentation and reports related to registration front-end workqueues, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- May perform needs assessment and analyze community needs as a basis for program development. Collaborates with the IT department to implement system enhancements and updates to improve registration and billing processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or greater preferred, or a combination of applicable experience and education
- 3+ years experience (5 preferred), managing and administrating program activities for assigned area

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $98827 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
