Program ManagerAsset Management

Summary of Key Responsibilities
The Process Owner role requires a strong and modern foundation In Asset Management, with demonstrated fluency is building, running, and finessing Asset Management operations. This role also requires experience working within enterprise Asset Management platform(s), with an emphasis on capabilities related to hardware and software Asset Management, and beyond. This role drives the overall health and viability of operational processes, as well as implementing them into our internal and customer-facing tools when possible. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process Design & Documentation – Ensures alignment with policies and industry best practices. Document existing business processes, process workflow diagrams, and all other supporting documentation.
  • Maintain leadership, steering, stakeholder ecosystem, communicate vision and strategy to business globally.
  • Policy & Standards – Establish process controls and procedures for Asset & Configuration Management with ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Process Integrations – Ensures seamless integration with other IT Service Management Processes. Ensures changes to ST environment are properly recorded, assessed and updated in the CMDB.
  • Governance – Partner with various teams to develop data management standards and controls. Leads quarterly Configuration Control Board Meetings
  • Asset Lifecycle Management – Monitors the management of the entire lifecycle of assets, from procurement to disposal and ensures CIs are updated in the CMDB.
  • Audit & Compliance – Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with standards and processes.
  • Reporting & metrics – Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to provide insights to the performance of asset & configuration management processes.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of asset and configuration management processes.
  • Training and Awareness – Develop training materials and conduct training session for end users and stakeholders, ensuring a high level of awareness and adoption of established procedures.
  • Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset & configuration management, working to minimize the impact of potential issues on Starbucks.
  • Collaboration - Collaborate with other ITSM & Infrastructure support process owners– Including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Desk, Vendor Management, Cyber Security, Governance Risk & Compliance, Application Portfolio Management, and Service Resilience.
  • Implementations – Support implementation of finalized process or development efforts with management, training, documentation, communication, and other relevant items.
  • Problem Solving – Diplomatic excellence, supporting, guiding, and leading conversations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in Asset Management practices, quality standards, best practices, and process/program/product management.
  • The ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • Experience and confidence in decision-making.
  • The ability to context switch between future product planning and current product adoption activities
  • Ability to set targets, measure results, and achieve forecasted outcomes.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences as well as communicating effectively with highly technical and knowledgeable audiences.
  • Ability to create great working relationships with all levels within the company and across multiple disciplines.
  • Comfortable facing new challenges, ambiguity, and changes in direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building an effective network of relationships inside and outside Starbucks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, as an advocate for the platform.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to design pragmatic solutions.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Consultant, or technical Product Analyst in a retail product company
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management, Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science (CS), or related field
