Development Services Group, Inc., is a national social science research firm in Bethesda, Maryland, that now has openings for Behavioral Health Research Scientists to join its team of highly experienced, nationally recognized experts for work with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Candidates should possess experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: the prevention and treatment of Substance misuse disorders, the prevention and treatment of Mental Health disorders, and substance misuse and Mental Health recovery services and supports. We are also seeking epidemiologists with experience addressing these fields.

Candidates should also have a background in identifying and implementing best practices related to Mental Health and substance use, a strong grasp of quantitative methods and statistics, and strong writing and communication skills. Experience and expertise are also desirable in one or more of the following areas: conducting systematic research reviews, meta-analyses, and syntheses based on a solid understanding of research methodologies, plus an understanding of how to disseminate and implement evidence-based programs and practices in behavioral health.

A proven track record in effectively communicating technical materials to non-technical audiences is required.

Each candidate must have a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in psychology, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline, plus 3 years of experience in a related field. E-mail resume and recent publications.
