The English Department invites applications for a Program Coordinator IIto oversee services, activities, and offerings of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Creative Writing.
Responsibilities may include:
- Developing special projects and offerings.
- Implementing marketing, outreach and recruiting efforts and compiling and writing monthly reports.
- Assist with budget oversight, tracking and reporting.
- Maintain and update BFA website.
- Facilitate scholarship and awards selection process.
- Assist with a variety of developmental/fundraising projects.
- Facilitate student awareness of and participation in service learning programs.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated skills in the operation of personal computers and related word processing with the ability to learn other software.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, initiative and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse group of individuals and to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to complete tasks accurately in a busy environment while providing attention to detail.
Minimum Required Experience:
- High School diploma and two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Three (3) years of experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Professional.
About the Creative Writing Program and UM:
The University of Montana introduced the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Creative Writing in 2020. The program is designed to support and mentor students by providing fundamental skills and experiences that prepare them for graduate school and the professional world. Students learn from our nationally-ranked MFA program faculty and receive critical feedback from their peers in the vibrant literary and arts community of Missoula.

Work Schedule: Part-time, 0.5 FTE (20 Hours a week), Monday through Friday Academic Year (10 months/year, August through May)
Salary: $18.585/hr.Current employee's rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department.

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
