Description

The Program Coordinator provides strong administrative support to the Program Director and Managers of the General Surgery Residency Program and Simulation Center to execute the planning and running of successful simulation events; not limited to, preparing annual applications, prop placement, and creating a realistic healthcare setting.

Flexibility in hours: Able to cover shifts based on program needs such as 6AM-2PM, 7AM-3PM, 1PM-9PM, 11AM-7PM; including some weekend date obligations, five to six weekend dates per year.


Responsibilities
  • Maintains the cleanliness of Simulation Center, effectively organizes storage and equipment at all times; as well as able to keep supply inventories. 
  • Oversees the day-to-day activity in the Simulation Center; monitors and tracks attendance of all users. 
  • Provides technical support; include trouble-shooting problems such as log in issues with simulators (LapSim machine, GI mentor, DaVinci robot), instructing on proper use, and facilitating vendor repairs when necessary.
  • Tracks resident simulation skill progress and runs weekly audit reports 
  • Manages the use of the Simulation Curriculum for teaching and learning by working with faculty, staff, residents and students to implement interdisciplinary activities. 
  • Physical set up and take down of a variety of healthcare simulation manikins and machines with extreme attention to detail. Able to lift heavy items (up to 80lbs), cleanup/sweep/mop after training sessions and pick up objects from mailroom or loading dock which may include live tissue which requires prompt refrigeration.
  •  Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the degree when the experiences are closely related to the duties of the job.
  • None required, but 1-2 years administrative experience preferred

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $67500 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
